According to a recent survey conducted by IQAir, Lahore is declared as most poluted city in the world by its air quality.
As a pakistani citizen and Lahore city fan/lover, I felt very disappointed after reading this news on ProPakistani.
The question arrise, Who is responsible for this?
Most people think Administration/State, Hain na?
It’s not the state or administration which is 100%. responisble for this. As a responsible citizen of Pakistan and resident of Lahore, almost we (except from some good citizen) all are involved in creating air polution.
According to NASA,
“Air pollution is caused by solid and liquid particles and certain gases that are suspended in the air. These particles and gases can come from motorcycle, car, and truck exhaust, factories, dust, pollen, mold spores, volcanoes and wildfires. The solid and liquid particles suspended in our air are called aerosols.“
In the above defination of air polution by Nasa, I have highlighted the main points which causing air polution and somewhere in this as a individual we are also involved.
Everyday Science & Technology makes our lives easier by inventing new things. However, these advantages are not without drawbacks. Motorcycles and other vehicles emit greenhouse gases, which contribute to climate change.
We all are totaly dependent on these vehciles.
What We Can Do to Reduce Pollution from Vehicles and Engines?
- Drive less.
- Walk when possible.
- Make use of public transport when possible.
- Always try to choose fuel efficient vehicles
- Don’t Idle your vehicles (idling of bikes, cars, trucks, and school buses pollutes the air)
